Colleen Hoover, currently one of the most popular authors in the US, has become the center of conversations among bibliophiles. The 43-year-old, who grew up in a small town in Texas, is known for her contemporary romance and psychological thriller books which mainly aim the female audiences in the US.
The celebrity author started from self-publishing books on the side to selling over 14.3 million copies of her work by the end of 2022.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg though. Hoover, being the second-most followed author on Goodreads after Stephen King, has highly active groups of CoHo (Colleen Hoover) fans across different social media platforms. The author has more than 940,000 followers on her Facebook Fan Page and over 1.4 million followers on TikTok. She was also named one of TIME’s Most Influential People in 2023.
But why is the author suddenly gaining popularity all over again? Hoover, known for some hit novels such as “Two More Days”, “Reminders of Him”, and “Heart Bones”, among many others, has made another prominent history. Her books have occupied four out of the top five spots on the New York Times Paperback Trade Fiction bestseller list.
Her novel “Too Late”, which revolves around obsession and dangerous love, tops the list followed by “It Ends with Us”, and “It Starts with Us” in the second and third places simultaneously. Hooper’s most steamy book “Verity” is in fifth place.
One author taking up all four places out of the top five is no easy task and all CoHo fans are going all gaga about this achievement while promoting the author’s books in all mediums.
That’s not all. Hoover’s best-known title, “It Ends with Us,” which was published in 2016, is also set to be made into a film starring Blake Lively. The movie adaptation is set for release in February 2024.
Surely, it seems to have been a full week of activity for CoHo fans with the author rewriting history along with her novels.
