Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known by his stage name Mohbad, was a rising rapper, singer, and songwriter from Nigeria. The rapper died last Tuesday at the young age of 27, which resulted in outrage from his fans who took to social media and to the streets as well, demanding a thorough investigation into the death of the acclaimed musician.

Mohbad, who became a stalwart of the Nigerian music industry with hits such as 'Ponmo' and 'Feel Good,' was a part of the record label company Marlin Records. As per reports, Mohbad left the record label in 2022. The fans of the rapper have focused their anger on the record label, as it's believed that he was subjected to 'fear, pains, and ordeals' by the company and its founder, Azeez Fashola, who is widely known as Naira Marley, after he left the company.

Additionally, Mohbad's mother said on Sunday that her son did not die a natural death and that he was killed. In a statement, she said that Mohbad was suffering 'sleepless nights ever since he met Naira Marley.'

She added that whoever killed her son, 'that person’s home will become troubled. They will face war and curses.'
Fans of the rapper took to social media with #Justice4Mohbad. Members of Mohbad's management also responded by stating that they are appreciative of the immense love and support shown by the fans and that they would like the fans to join a candlelight march and a tribute concert that the management is organizing.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 21, at 5 p.m. at Lekki Phase 1 Gate, and the concert will take place at 8 p.m. at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos State.

According to reports, young fans of the rapper took to the streets in the Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, in a bid to demand justice. The protesters wore black clothes and carried with them numerous placards that read #JusticeForMohbad.

The Lagos State Police Command established a special investigative team on Monday to look into the rapper's death, and they expect the team to file an interim report within two weeks.

Mohbad gained significant popularity in 2020 after he released his track 'Ko Por Ke' featuring Rexxie. He has also collaborated with other acclaimed Nigerian artists, like Lil Kesh and Davido.

He started his career at the age of 16 by doing freestyle rapping and also making covers of well-known songs by revered Nigerian musicians like Tekno and Kizz Daniel.
