An Asian Tale

I heard these bizarre stories about the modus operandi of schools where they teach terror. Young kids are picked up from school and brain-washed by mullahs at mosques to be sent on jehad missions. I met a distraught mother who told me the story of how her son, a bright medical student, just disappeared one day. Investigations from friends revealed that he had applied for a year's leave in college and had been sent to fight in Bosnia. Such cases amongst Pakistani families are not uncommon. The mullahs come seeking political asylum, which I am told they manage by paying to publish some death threats in local papers. Then they receive unemployment money and child support and spend their time preaching militancy. The British seem to have wisened up and are now in the process of enacting laws that do not allow militant activity in the garb of religious activity. Another theory is that of the foreign hand trying to dislodge the university toppers here who are Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshi, in that order. But I would rather trash this one as subcontinent paranoia.
