The Yamuna River in Delhi has reached record water-level this year. Several parts of the Delhi are submerged and thousands have been evacuated to temporary shelters in safer areas.
Officials told PTI that three boys drowned while taking a bath in floodwaters in northwest Delhi's Mukundpur area.
All the boys were residents of north east Delhi's Jahangirpuri and were aged between 10 and 12, reported PTI.
Fire officials told PTI that a fire tender was rushed to the spot after information about the incident was received at 2:25 pm.
The water level in Yamuna stood at 208.23 metre at 4 pm on Friday, around three metres over the danger mark of 205.33 metres. This, however, is lesser than the water level on Thursday which reached 208.66 metres at around 7 pm.
