At the outset of the Supreme Court’s September 28 verdict allowing women (of the age group of 10 to 50 years) to enter the Sabarimala temple in Kerala, two women on Friday under heavy police protection were almost on the verge of creating history. Hyderabad-based journalist, Kavitha Jakkal, and activist, Rehana Fathima, were shielded by over 100 personnel from the Kerala police as they trekked through the hill in a two-hour journey.
