AAP Raises Alarm: No Election Possible If Opposition Fails To Unite For 2024 Lok Sabha Polls

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has voiced alarming allegations, suggesting that if opposition parties fail to unite for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls, there may not be an election in the country. According to the reports by PTI, during a press conference, AAP's national spokesperson and Delhi cabinet minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, expressed apprehension that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi were to be re-elected, he might manipulate the Constitution to declare himself as the country's "king" for the duration of his life. 

While Bharadwaj's claims were dismissed as baseless by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, he further emphasized the need for opposition parties to unite and fight against the BJP's alleged attempts to suppress the opposition by any means necessary.

Bharadwaj accused the ruling party of employing tactics such as conducting raids and imprisoning opposition leaders, raising concerns about the erosion of freedom and the sacrifice made by countless individuals for the nation's independence. He warned that if Modi were to retain power in 2024, fundamental rights and the essence of democracy could be at stake.

The upcoming Opposition conclave scheduled for June 23, organized by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, aims to strategize against the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Responding to Bharadwaj's statements, Virendra Sachdeva criticized the AAP's claims as "childish" and urged them to explain their eagerness to form alliances with parties and leaders they previously criticized and accused of corruption.

Additionally, Bharadwaj accused the Indian National Congress of copying ideas from the AAP's manifestos, labeling them as "copycats." He claimed that after mocking the AAP's welfare schemes, the Congress is now imitating them, exposing a lack of originality and ideas within the oldest political party in the country.

Addressing the ongoing tussle between the AAP government in Delhi and the central government over service matters, Bharadwaj accused the central government of intentionally obstructing the elected government's work. He alleged that there is a deliberate conspiracy, directed by the Centre, to undermine the AAP's welfare programs, hinder private hospital surgeries facilitated by Delhi hospitals, and displace residents living in JJ clusters.
