Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed his anticipation that some individuals might attribute the assembly polls' outcome to electronic voting machines (EVMs), particularly those aligned with the INDIA alliance. As counting progressed in four states, the BJP appeared poised for success in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and held a significant advantage in Chhattisgarh, while the Congress was positioned to unseat the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, as reported by PTI.
Pawar acknowledged the widespread appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work among the public and cautioned against hastily blaming EVMs for election results. Drawing on his past experience in government, he asserted the impracticality of tampering with EVMs on a large scale by a single individual, emphasizing that such malpractices would likely have surfaced by now if they involved numerous people.
Questioning the consistency of blaming EVMs across states, Pawar pointed out the contrasting situation in Telangana and urged acceptance of the people's choice.
