The Indian married woman Anju went to Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend and allegedly married him over there and left behind two children and a husband in India.
Anju, the Indian woman who went to Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend has now married him and allegedly converted to Islam. Anju's father spoke to the media and said she is no more alive for them as she left behind her family here and said he has no information about her religious conversion.
Anju's father, Gaya Prasad Thomas spoke to the reporters at Bouna village in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh and said that Anju ruined the future of her two children by leaving them here and marrying someone else in Pakistan. He reportedly said, "The way she ran away leaving her two children and husband behind.... she did not even think of her children. If she wanted to do this, she should have divorced her husband first. She is no more (alive) for us."
Thomas was asked if he knew about Anju's conversion to Islam and taking the name Fatima as per reports, he said that he did not have any information about it.
Further speaking of Anju's family in India, her father told the media, "What will happen to her children, her husband? Who will take care of her children – 13-year-old girl and five-year-old boy? She has ruined the future of her children and the husband. Who will take care of her kids....We will have to do it."
Thomas also remarked, "I pray...to let her die there" referring to Pakistan when he was asked about appealing to the Indian government for bringing her back to the country.
Reportedly Anju was not on talking terms with her father before she went to Pakistan and only spoke to her mother. Thomas claimed that he did not know how she got the visa and passport for going to Pakistan.
Reportedly speculations were made that Thomas's village is close to Tekanpur town which has a major Border Security Force stationed, if there was more to this story regarding border security. When asked about it, Thomas denied his daughter being involved in such a matter. He further told the media, "No one raised any such issue with us. Only you (media) are raising this question. My kids have no criminal tendencies. I am ready to have any probe in the matter."
Earlier on Monday, Thomas described his daughter as “mentally disturbed and eccentric" to the media when asked about her intention to go to Pakistan.
The 34-year-old Indian woman was staying at her 29-year-old Pakistani friend Nasrullah's home in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
