From Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, the first phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra traversed a massive distance of approximately 4,080 kilometers.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been receiving countless requests regarding the second edition of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from the party workers and leaders across the nation after the grand success of the first one. This time, it has been reported that the requests are pouring in to embark on the second edition from east to west, contrary to the first one that followed a roadmap joining the south and north.
When asked about it, Congress MP KC Venugopal said that the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's highest decision-making body, also supported the idea.
"In the CWC meeting, Congress president (Mallikarjun Kharge) initially told Rahul Gandhi that he's getting massive opinions from the party workers and leaders from all over India that Rahul Gandhi should do a second yatra from east to west," KC Venugopal said today.
The Congress leader said a decision on the yatra would be taken soon.

It commenced on September 2022 and ended on January 2023.
It passed through 75 districts in 12 states in 126 days, marking India’s longest foot march.
With Rahul Gandhi spearheading the procession across states, the primary objective of this mass movement was to unite India against the divisive politics of the ruling BJP at the Centre.
It also aimed to address other socio-economic issues such as unemployment and inequality.
