Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras earlier ruled out leaving the Hajipur seat for his estranged nephew, a day after the two met at the mega NDA meeting in Delhi amid speculations of unification of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) factions.
The tussle over the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat in Bihar is never-ending. Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), who received a warm welcome from Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself as he joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) again, on Thursday reportedly dropped hints that a decision on Hajipur seat has already been made and it is in his favour.
In an interview with NDTV, Chirag, the late beloved leader Ram Vilas Paswan’s son, spoke about his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras’s claim over the seat and said, “He is the current MP. But I too, have my reasons. Hajipur was my father's project and it is my responsibility to finish his unfinished work. But these decisions will be made by the alliance.”
He also reiterated that his party will "without any doubt" contest the Lok Sabha polls from Hajipur.

Paswan had been in talks with the BJP for some time and was looking forward to finalising a seat-sharing arrangement for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He joined the NDA on Tuesday in presence of PM Modi, Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda.
Meanwhile, Paras – brother of Ram Vilas Paswan – leads the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), the LJP faction which is already a part of the NDA.
At the NDA meeting, Paswan also touched the feet of Paras as the two hugged each other. Although Paras underplayed the warmth, he told media that even if they have political differences, their family ties have not ended.
