Mahua Moitra criticized the Adani Group and conveyed that their attempts to silence her were futile. On her social media, Moitra said that she is using her ill-gotten cash and gifts to buy a college or university in which 'Degree Dubey can finally buy a real degree'.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nishikant Dubey has made major allegations against Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra of accepting gifts from a businessman for asking questions in the Parliament. Dubey wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding Moitra's immediate suspension.
In the letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has asked for an inquiry committee to investigate allegations against TMC MP Mahua Moitra. Dubey further demanded her "immediate suspension" from the House, mentioning that there were allegations of "bribes being exchanged between her and businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for posing questions in Parliament in exchange for cash and gifts."
As the subject of the letter, Dubey mentioned, "Re-emergence of nasty 'Cash for Query' in Parliament - Direct Involvement of Smt. Mohua Moitra, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for serious 'Breach of Privilege', 'Contempt of the House' and a 'Criminal Offence' under Section 120-A of IPC."
He then wrote that the facts in the letter were researched by advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai and continued to say, "Smt Moitra asked approximately 50 questions in Parliament, out of total 61, posted by her, which shockingly seek information, with the intent of protecting or perpetuating business interests of Shri Darshan Hiranandani and his Company. The questions were also often focused on the Adani Group, another business conglomerate, Hiranandani Group was bidding for business against."
It further added, "In the past few years, a clever facade was crafted, when Smt Mahua Moitra, as Opposition leader, vehemently targeted our Honourable Prime Minister and Respected Home Minister, constantly referencing to the Adani Group, giving the impression that she was critical of the Government, possibly with the intention of seeking cover against her clandestine criminal operation. Other Opposition parties also, taking a cue, used every opportunity to target the present Government, and have been making desperate to link it to select business Groups."
"Whenever there is a Parliament session, the shouting brigade of All India Trinamool Congress, led by Smt Mohua Moitra and Shri Saugata Roy, are in habit of disrupting the proceedings of the House, by their continued abuses on each and everybody, on one pretext or the other. I, along with several other Members of Parliament, were always perplexed, as to why this 'shouting brigade' of TMC led by Smt Mahua Moitra indulges in such tactics, which infringes on the constitutional rights of other members, to debate and discuss the issues of common people and policies of the Government," the letter said.
"Now, with the unmasking of quid pro quo in the form of ugly and deliberate motive of Smt Mahua Moitra, to raise money from a businessman in lieu of asking questions in Lok Sabha, targeting another business group, it has become amply clear that the edifice of 'morality' being exhibited by Smt Mahua Moitra was nothing but a 'Machiavellian Camouflage' for committing a crime by entering into a criminal conspiracy and at the same time enjoying the title give to Smt Mahua Moitra as a 'firebrand Member of Parliament', which is nothing but a sham," it added.
Mahua Moitra criticized the Adani Group and conveyed that their attempts to silence her were futile. She stated, "If Adani group is relying on dodgy dossier created by dubious Sanghis & circulated by fake degree wallahs to either shut me up or bring me down I would advise them not to waste their time. Use your lawyers wisely."
She also welcomed the inquiry initiated by the CBI into allegations of her involvement in money laundering, adding, "Also welcome @CBIHeadquarters enquiry into my alleged money laundering right after they finish investigating Adani’s offshore money trail, over invoicing, benami accounts. Adani may use BJP agencies to browbeat competition & buy airports but just try doing it with me."
Nishikant Dubey's letter coincided with the circulation of a photograph featuring Mahua Moitra and Shashi Tharoor raising a toast, which quickly gained attention. In response, the Trinamool MP commented that the women of Bengal lead their own lives, emphasizing that there was no deception involved.
