BJP Slams Congress For Compromising State Interests, Reducing Itself To Rahul Gandhi's Followers

This criticism comes after the Congress declared its opposition to the Centre's ordinance on administrative services in Delhi, leading to a war of words between the two parties.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has leveled serious allegations against the Congress, claiming that the party has consistently sacrificed the interests of its state units in favor of appeasing Rahul Gandhi and maintaining his relevance. The BJP's criticism comes in response to the Congress' recent decision to support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in opposing the Centre's ordinance on administrative services in Delhi, leading to a war of words between the two parties.

Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP's IT department, expressed his disapproval of the Congress' central leadership, accusing them of striking deals with AAP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) without gaining any substantial benefits in return. He further asserted that the Congress has become a mere group of individuals revolving around Rahul Gandhi, neglecting the interests of its state units.

BJP spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill targeted the disunity within the Congress, calling for an explanation of the internal differences within the party before engaging in opposition meetings in Bengaluru. He highlighted contrasting statements made by Punjab Congress leader Pratap Bajwa and Congress leader Ajay Maken regarding their stance on supporting AAP. Shergill criticized the Congress for its political desperation and confusion.
