At least three people died and several others were injured in a road accident in Noida.

"The accident occurred at around 3 am under the limits of PS Ecotech-3. A pickup truck went out of control when a car collided with it from behind, lost balance and overturned. The occupants of both vehicles were acquaintances and were returning to Kulesara after attending a wedding," said ADCP Central Noida Hirdesh.

"On getting information about the incident, the police immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured to the nearest hospital for treatment. During treatment, 3 people died and out of the 9 who were injured, four were referred to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi," he added.

Karnataka 7th Pay Commission: State Govt Approves 27.5% Hike For Employees

The Karnataka government on Monday reportedly decided to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, which recommends a 27.5 percent hike on basic salary of government employees, effective from August 1.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to announce the pay hike to more than seven lakh state government employees in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, sources cited in a news agency PTI report said.

The move is expected to cost the government exchequer an additional Rs 17,440.15 crore annually. READ FULL STORY

Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, was allegedly found murdered at his ancestral home in Bihar's Darbhanga district, police said on Tuesday.

Jitan Sahani's body, with several stab injuries and cut marks on his chest and stomach, was found inside his room at his house in Biraul area this morning, according to a news agency PTI report.

Darbhanga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jagunath Reddy said a team of senior officers have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

J&K Terror Attack News: Defence Minister Speaks To Army Chief

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has reportedly spoken to the Indian Army chief after the Doda militant attack in which four personnel died. The Indian Army chief apprised Rajnath Singh about the ground situation and ongoing operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda, according to news agency ANI.

Four army personnel, including an officer, who were critically injured in a gunfight with heavily-armed terrorists, succumbed to injuries in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir early Tuesday, official sources said.

The encounter took place when the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of J&K Police launched a joint cordon and search operation at Dhari Gote Urarbagi in Desa forest belt, some 55 km from Doda town, late Monday evening, the officials said.

Mukesh Sahani Father Murder: Cops Find Almirah In Nearby Pond

On the murder of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani's father, DIG Darbhanga Babu Ram said, "We got the information in the morning. The FSL team is conducting an investigation. We have found some important evidence. The accused will be arrested soon. We will give detailed information in the next 6-8 hours. A small almirah containing some papers has been found in a nearby pond. Three empty glasses were also found lying on the table."

A court in Ajmer on Tuesday acquitted all six people accused of raising inflammatory slogans from the gate of the Moinuddin Chishti Dargah following suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma's derogatory comments against the Prophet in 2022.

Public prosecutor Gulam Nazmi said that Ajmer Dargah 'khadim' Gohar Chisti, Tazim Siddiki, Farook Zamali, Nasir, Riyaz Hasan and Moin have been acquitted by the court.

"All accused have been acquitted under all sections. An appeal against the verdict will be made after examining the order," he said.

With the two arrests, the total number of persons arrested in connection with cases pertaining to leakage, impersonation and other irregularities in the medical entrance exam has now reached 14, officials cited in a news agency PTI report said.

The agency has arrested Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a 2017-batch civil engineer from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, who allegedly stole the NEET-UG paper from the NTA trunk in Hazaribagh, the officials said.
