BSP MP Danish Ali who was verbally abused by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in Lok Sabha, slammed the ruling party for claiming that he 'provoked' Bidhuri into making those communal remarks.
While chrous grew for suspension of the BJP MP who used terms like "Muslim ugrawadi" (Muslim terrorist), "Bharwa" (pimp), and "katwa" (circumcised) to refer to Danish Ali, BJP's Nishikant Dubey attempted to defend his party member, and claimed that a number of such “unsavoury remarks” have been made by Opposition leaders and sought an “inquiry committee to investigate the utterances”.
Dubey further urged the Speaker to form an inquiry committee to look into statements made by Ali and members from parties like the TMC and the DMK in Lok Sabha and alleged that the BSP MP made "highly objectionable" remarks against Modi that provoked the ruling party MP.
"The fact remains that during the entire speech of Shri Bidhuri, Shri Danish Ali indulged in a 'running commentary' and also made unsavoury remarks towards one and all with a view to cause hindrance to Shri Bidhuri and also instigate him to 'lose his calm and composure' and not be able to express his views in the House," Dubey wrote in his letter.
Retorting to these claims, Ali said that, far from provoking or instigating BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri by making an objectionable remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he was trying to get the abusive words expunged from the record.
Ali posted a video of Bidhuri's utterances and wrote in Hindi, "Today, some BJP leaders are trying to frame a narrative that I provoked Shri Ramesh Biduri in the Parliament, whereas the truth is that I worked to save the dignity of the post of Prime Minister. I demanded that the Chairman expunge the highly objectionable words used against Modiji from the record."
