Delhi: Class 12 Student Succumbs To Injuries Following School Altercation

The incident unfolded on December 15 when the 17-year-old boy, returning home from school, engaged in a physical altercation with a fellow student.

A class 12 student met a tragic demise on Saturday, succumbing to injuries inflicted during an altercation with another student and a group of individuals, as reported by the Delhi Police.

The incident unfolded on December 15 when the 17-year-old boy, returning home from school, engaged in a physical altercation with a fellow student. The confrontation escalated when the other student, accompanied by others, reportedly attacked him, causing injuries to his head and face.

While the victim received initial first aid at a nearby clinic, no medico-legal case was initiated, as both parties purportedly settled the matter amicably, according to police statements.

Investigations revealed a verbal altercation between the two schoolboys on December 12, followed by the assault on December 15 in the D Block area at Bhajanpura. Despite sustaining injuries to his face and head, the victim returned home after receiving first aid.

Tragically, the victim's health deteriorated the following morning, leading to loss of consciousness. Subsequently, he was rushed to GTB Hospital, from where he was referred to RML Hospital. On December 23, at 10:30 p.m., RML Hospital reported the unfortunate news of the student's demise while undergoing treatment.

Promptly responding to the unfolding tragedy, a case of assault has been registered at Bhajanpura police station under the relevant sections of the IPC based on the complaint filed by the boy's father.
