As per media reports, these buildings will be 7+1 storeyed with state-of-the-art infrastructure for the faculty of technology, a computer centre, and an academic block.
While speaking at the valedictory session of the university's centenary celebrations, PM Modi said,"Delhi University is not merely a university, but a movement."
"India used to have big share in global GDP; 100s of years of slavery destroyed its education centres, stalled growth", he said.
At DU event, PM Modi cites rise in number of IITs, IIMs, AIIMS in recent years, describes them as building blocks of new India.
"Due to futuristic policies in education sector, Indian universities getting global recognition", PM Modi added.
A three-tire security was put in place with the deployment of more than 1,000 paramilitary and police personnel for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Delhi University, police officials told PTI.
"We have deployed more than 1,000 security personnel, including from paramilitary forces. A very tight security arrangement has been in place with a three-tire checking system," a police offical told the news agency.
