Gehlot planned to visit Sikar's Sangliya Peeth for Baba Shri Khinwadas Ji Maharaj's death anniversary, but G20 Summit-related permissions were denied as claimed by the CM
On Saturday, the Home Ministry issued a statement in response to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's claim that his helicopter had been refused permission. Gehlot had planned to visit Sangliya Peeth in Sikar on Friday as part of the commemorative event marking the death anniversary of Baba Shri Khinwadas Ji Maharaj.
"In a news report, Rajasthan Chief Minister has claimed denial of approval for his helicopter flight by the MHA. Four requests were received from CM Rajasthan for flight permissions, including for Sikar, and all were approved by the MHA." the ministry tweeted and further added saying, "No request from CM Rajasthan has been denied. While all scheduled flights of commercial Aircrafts and movement of Governors and State Chief Ministers on their State aircrafts are allowed, private chartered flights require specific MHA approval."
On Friday, Rajasthan's CM alleged that his helicopter was denied permission by the Union Home Ministry for the Udaipur to Sikar route, resulting in the cancellation of his program.
"Today, as part of the commemorative program for Baba Shri Khinwadas Ji Maharaj's death anniversary, there was a scheduled visit to Sangliya Peeth in Sikar. However, due to the G-20 meeting, the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India did not grant permission for me to travel from Udaipur to Sikar by helicopter. As a result, I regret to announce that I am unable to reach Sangliya Peeth today," Gehlot conveyed on 'X', formerly known as Twitter.
"I have spoken with Peethadhishwar Shri Om Das Maharaj of Sangliya Peeth over the phone and informed him of the situation. I plan to visit Sangliya Peeth soon to seek blessings," he added.
On Friday, Gehlot visited Shri Sanwalia Seth in Chittorgarh district. The G20 Summit, which is attended by leaders from both developing and developed countries, including US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, is scheduled to commence today.
