The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued fresh summons to RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, directing them to appear for questioning at its Patna office in connection with the alleged railways land-for-jobs money laundering case.
According to official sources on Friday, Lalu Prasad has been scheduled to depose on January 29, while Tejashwi Yadav has been summoned for the following day, January 30.
A team from the Enforcement Directorate visited the official residence of Prasad's wife, Rabri Devi, in Patna to deliver the summons. Both father and son had previously skipped summonses related to this case. The directive requires them to appear at the Enforcement Directorate office located on Bank Road in the capital.
The alleged money laundering scam is linked to the period when Lalu Prasad held the position of railway minister in the UPA-1 government.
