Deshmukh, currently on bail in the alleged corruption and money laundering cases being probed by the CBI and the ED, stated the common man was suffering because of the ban.
"There was an unreasonable ban invoked by the Shinde-led government on several development works recommended by the elected representatives. The common citizens are suffering due to the blanket ban imposed on such works. I request you to kindly revoke the ban and get the pending works completed," he said in a letter written on Monday.
The 73-year-old Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader walked out of Mumbai's Arthur Road prison on December 28, 2022, more than a year of his arrest, after the Bombay High Court refused to further stay its order granting him bail in a corruption case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
