A fire occurred on Saturday morning at the Madhya Pradesh state secretariat building, commonly known as Vallabh Bhawan. The incident took place on the third floor, with sanitation workers discovering smoke around 9:30 am. Prompt action was taken as the fire brigade was alerted immediately.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control, and as of now, only smoke is coming from the third floor where documents are stored. Bhopal Municipal Corporation's Fire Officer Rameshwar Neel mentioned that around 15 to 20 fire tenders were deployed to handle the situation.

The source of the incident was noticed by sanitation workers near gate number 5 and 6 of the secretariat complex, who quickly informed the authorities.

The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress raised questions about the fire, with Congress president Jitendra Patwari expressing concern. He highlighted that this incident marks the fourth time a fire has occurred in Vallabh Bhawan, Satpura Bhawan, and other ministries, questioning the reasons, responsibility, and extent of damage. Patwari stated, "Nothing came out, no data...In India, why often do fires break out in Madhya Pradesh's ministries only?"

Congress leader Umang Singhar alleged a feud between Mohan Yadav and former CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, suggesting that Chauhan might be burning files related to his alleged scams. Singhar claimed, “Shivraj Singh Chauhan is burning the files of his scams in Vallabh Bhawan so that Mohan Yadav is not able to investigate any case!” He added, “The BJP government is causing loss to lakhs of people of the state in its infighting.”
