A 19-year-old woman was on Monday stabbed to death by her 23-year-old ex-fiance under broad daylight in an act of vengeance over breaking off the engagement. Visuals caught on CCTV showed a man walking up to the teenager, who was with another woman, and stabbing her repeatedly after an altercation.
The incident happened in full view of the public and bystanders, who were initially watching the couple argue, fled the scene when the man, identified as Rajkumar, took out his knife and started attacking the victim. The woman accompanying her tried to intervene but failed to save her. Another video doing rounds online showed the man, covered in blood, standing there after committing the crime. According to reports, he has been arrested.
According to police, both of them are from Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district and the woman worked as a domestic help. They were living in Gurugram's Mullahera locality and were engaged four months back.
The engagement was reportedly called off a few days ago by the woman's family for some unknown reason.
