A Varanasi court on Wednesday directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to submit all the objects related to the Hindu religion, which were found during the ongoing scientific survey at the premises of the Gyanvapi Mosque, to the District Magistrate. It also directed the District Magistrate to take responsibility or appoint someone who will protect these objects and present them before the court as and when needed.
Appearing for Rakhi Singh, one of the applicants, Advocate Saurabh Tiwari argued the necessity to preserve the premises of the Mosque and seal certain areas where Hindu signs and symbols were found. He alleged that the same was being destroyed by the members of the Masjid Committee, according to LiveLaw.
