The Himachal Pradesh government will bear the entire cost of treatment of a 18-year-old girl suffering from a serious illness, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Saturday.
The girl, a resident of Bijhari in Hamirpur district, informed the chief minister that her family was not in a position to bear the expenses of her treatment.

The girl, Meenakshi Thakur, along with her mother, met the chief minister in Hamirpur and apprised him that she is suffering from a serious illness and is undergoing treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh.
The girl, a resident of Bijhari in Hamirpur district, informed the chief minister that her family was not in a position to bear the expenses of her treatment.
Sukhu directed the district administration to take necessary action to help the girl and said the total expenditure of her treatment would be incurred by the state government, according to an official statement here.
