Speaking of corruption, rape, atrocities on tribals in 'BJP laboratory', Rahul Gandhi said, "Future of 1 crore youths is being ruined in Vyapam, 40 people are killed. MBBS seats are sold and Rs 15 lakh has to be given to become a registrar, but they (BJP) don't stop there. In BJP's laboratory, 18,000 farmers have died by suicide in 18 years."
Referring to the incident where a tribal youth was urinated on in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress leader claimed that, "(Lal Krishna) Advani wrote a book in which he stated that the original laboratory of BJP-RSS is not in Gujarat, but Madhya Pradesh...This is what Advani meant when he said that BJP-RSS laboratory will be built in Madhya Pradesh."
After a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) yesterday, Rahul Gandhi had said his party had taken a "historic decision" unanimously to support the idea of a nationwide caste census, asserting it was a "powerful step" for the emancipation of the poor. While speaking at the rally today, the Congress leader said that caste census is an X-ray to know the truth about OBCs, Dalits and tribals. "What should be the share for OBC and SC communities? This is the question before the country. This is why we have called for caste census and we will get it done," he said.
Madhya Pradesh will have a single phase polling on November 17 with counting of votes set for December 3 along with other states. In the last seven months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP's top poll campaigner, has visited MP nine times mostly to address public meetings and functions. The BJP has so far announced its candidates for 136 seats in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly.
