In one of India's worst train accidents, at least 288 people died and 1,000 were injured after two trains derailed and collided and also crashed into a third stationery train at Bahanaga Bazar in Odisha's Balasore district. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to family members of those killed in the accident.
