While announcing the Delhi election dates, the Election Commission said that the model code of conduct will come into effect immediately.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, in a press conference after the announcement of poll dates, appealed the people of Delhi to "vote for us (AAP) only if you think we have done good work in the last five years".
"We will run a positive campaign, will not abuse anyone," he added.
Of the 70 seats, 58 seats are in general category and 12 are reserved for scheduled caste candidates.
A total of 1.46 crore voters can exercise their franchise in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, according to the final electoral list for Delhi.
