No Confidence Motion In Parliament: Lok Sabha Adjourned After Home Minister Amit Shah's Address; PM Modi To Be Present Tomorrow

The debate on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha moved by opposition INDIA alliance was kicked off by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the second day today. Recalling his visit to Manipur, Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi hasn't visited Manipur until now, because "he doesn't consider Manipur as part of India". His remarks triggered an uproar in the House with ruling MPs demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his statements. The debate ended with Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah's remarks on violence in Manipur. 

The politics of the BJP has "murdered Bharat Mata" in Manipur, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged on Wednesday and called members of the ruling party "traitors". On the other hand, Home Minister Amit Shah questioned the character of the opposition alliance, saying its true face was seen when it indulged in corruption to save its governments. The Home Minister detailed the events that led to violence in Manipur and claimed that the opposition wasn't allowing him to speak on the issue until now.

On the first day of the debate, opposition leaders questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur and the BJP and its allies listed Modi government's achievements in the last nine years. The debate, which will continue till tomorrow, when the Prime Minister is expected to give his reply, is taking place in the shadow of the ethnic violence in Manipur which has killed over 160 people since May 3.
