Twelve people, including five firefighters, were rescued from the collapsed factory building.
At least 14 people, including 13 firefighters, were injured after a factory that had caught fire collapsed in Delhi's Peera Garhi on Thursday morning, police said. As many as 12 people were rescued from the building but one of them died later in hospital.
According to officials, one Delhi Fire Services personnel, who was trapped in the collapsed building and was later rescued, has succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Twelve people, including five firefighters, were rescued from the factory as a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) joined in the rescue operations, IANS reported. The firefighters were trapped when they entered the factory to douse the fire.
Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg, who was present at the site, said: "Five firemen, who went into the building to douse the fire and were trapped, have been rescued. They were injured and have been sent to the hospital for medical aid."
A security guard of the factory was also injured, a police officer said, adding one person was still trapped under the debris.
A rescue operation is underway and the police, fire brigade personnel, NDRF team and civil authorities are at the spot.
The building at Udoh Nagar area collapsed following an explosion when firefighters were dousing the blaze, the official said, adding that the fire department had received a call at 4.23 am.
People, including fire personnel, are trapped inside, the official added.
"Those injured, including fire brigade personnel, have been taken to the Sanjay Gandhi hospital and the Balaji Action hospital," he said, adding that 35 fire tenders were at the spot.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he was monitoring the situation.
"V (Very) sad to hear this. Am closely monitoring the situation. Fire personnel trying their best. Praying for the safety of those trapped," Kejriwal tweeted.
