Tremors of the earthquake were also felt in North India late Friday evening which caused panic among people forcing them to rush out of their homes.
People in cities like Delhi, Shimla and Jammu region also felt the quake.
The tremor was felt in Pakistan's capital Islamabad and major cities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab provinces and Pakistan occupied-Kashmir also.
The quake hit at a depth of 91 kilometres from the surface.
However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
