J&K: Two IEDs Destroyed In Rajouri A Day After Suspected IED Blasts In Jammu

The recovery of IED on Sunday comes a day after two blasts in Jammu's Narwal area injured nine. IEDs are suspected to have been involved in the blasts.

Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were destroyed in a controlled explosion in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on Sunday, said an official. 

The official told PTI that the IEDs were recovered during a joint operation by J&K Police, Indian Army, and CRPF in Dassal village, 4 kms from Rajouri town, on Sunday evening said. He said the IEDs were located on an intelligence input.

They were destroyed in a controlled explosion by the bomb disposal squad in the Chingus forest area, 30 kms away from the town.

The recovery of IED on Sunday comes a day after two blasts in Jammu's Narwal area injured nine. IEDs are suspected to have been involved in the blasts. 

The recovery also comes barely three after an IED blast killed two children in Dhangri village of Rajouri.

Security forces are on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir, where they have intensified checking and strengthened border and highway grids in view of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra and upcoming Republic Day.

A fresh alert was issued for the forces following two blasts on Saturday in Narwal locality of Jammu that left nine persons injured, and recovery of another IED in Kheora village of Rajouri last week, the officer said.
