As the pre-dawn attack on the Army camp was carried out by the militants in Sujwan area of Jammu, and the encounter was going on, the reactions coming in from political parties have created more news.
Early morning, BJP leader Ravinder Raina visited the spot and later, in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, he raised anti-Pakistan slogans. He was joined by the other MLAs of the ruling BJP. While Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly Kavinder Gupta blamed Rohingya Muslims have role in the attack as they live in the vicinity.
Gupta persisted that Rohingya Muslims, who have been living in Jammu for past few decades, are a security threat.
But opposition National Conference leader Akbar Lone insisted that the BJP shouldn't blame Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshi refugees for the attack as the investigation was yet to begin. Lone raised pro-Pakistan slogan, creating a huge controversy forcing the National Conference to disown his statement. Lone said he raised the slogan as the BJP members were not ready to talk about the real issue of the attack.
National Conference fielded its patron, Farooq Abdullah, to undo the damage caused by Lone. Abdullah said the entire party is of the unequivocal stand that NC MLA from Sonawari Lone has spoken out of turn and his slogans in the Legislative Assembly are completely unacceptable to the party.
Abdullah said the NC MLA should not forget that he belongs to a party that rejected the two nation theory and should remember the oath he swears in the name of God at the beginning of his terms.
"The party disowns and condemns his remarks", he said. As the working president of NC, Omar Abdullah endorsed the party patron's statement, he was attacked by the BJP spokesman, GVL Narasimha Rao, who tweeted to Omar: "Please stop this drama. Your insistence on not saying (doing) anything more says it all. You are backing your MLA for his Pro-Pak rants. Expel MLA from party NOW! Try & redeem your party from this MLA's rants and your Dad's provocative recent statements on Kashmir!"
Omar shot back, saying, "You let us worry about the MLA. You on the other hand should be begging forgiveness of the nation for your abject mishandling of J&K over the last few years both at the Centre & with your coalition partner."
"Forget about the valley or the border even Jammu city is not safe under you guys (including your allies) so stop obfuscating & start explaining how you’ve managed to mess things up so spectacularly," reads Omar's another tweet.
Farooq Abdullah said if Pakistan wants good relations with India, it needs to stop terrorism or it will have to face consequences. He said if such attacks continue, "India will have no option but to a wage war".
Here, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party stepped in. The PDP, while reacting to Farooq's statement, said: "War has terrible consequences for the people of our state as evident from the recent skirmishes on the LoC. We reject the advocacy of warmongering and firmly believe that dialogue is the only way out to resolve all outstanding issues."
