'Kejriwal Will Take Strict Action': AAP's Sanjay Singh Confirms Delhi CM's PA 'Misbehaved' With Swati Maliwal

AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Tuesday said that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will take strict action on the recent allegation against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PS Bibhav Kumar of "misbehaving" with AAP RS MP Swati Maliwal on Monday at the CM's residence.

Addressing a press conference today, Singh said it is a "condemnable incident".

Singh revealed details about the incident, she said, "Yesterday, Maliwal had gone to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. While she was waiting to meet him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar misbehaved with her. "

Singh added, "This is a highly condemnable incident. Kejriwal has taken cognizance of it and will take strict action in the incident."

Maliwal on Monday went to the Civil Lines Police Station and alleged that a member of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff "assaulted' her at the chief minister's official residence, police officials said.

National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma expressed concern over Maliwal's safety in a post on X. She wondered if Maliwal was under pressure not to lodge a police complaint and urged the AAP leader to "speak up".

According to PTI, Police has said that they are still waiting for her to come and file a formal complaint, but added that they have not closed the DD (daily diary) entry as Maliwal had come to the police station on Monday and said she would return to lodge a case.

How Did BJP React?

The Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that Singh's statement should be the basis for immediate filing of an FIR by police and those guilty should be promptly dealt with.

Senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday for the alleged incident of “misbehaviour” with AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.

Campaigning for BJP candidate from North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency Manoj Tiwari, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said that even in the Mamata Banerjee-ruled West Bengal, the Sandeshkhali incident happened where women were mistreated.

“Such humiliation and misbehaviour with a sister in Chief Minister's house, will you accept it?” he said referring to the incident involving AAP leader Maliwal.

"Mahabharat started just because Draupadi was humiliated," he said, alleging Banerjee and Kejriwal were both committing the “sin” of “protecting criminals”.
