In a brutal incident, Kolkata Police discovered the dead body of a 7-year-old girl who was abducted and murdered by her neighbour, packed in a suitcase from the neighbour’s flat on Sunday.
According to the Kolkata Police, the body was found on the second floor of the 32-year-old accused Alok Kumar's flat. Kumar has been arrested by the police and confessed to the murder.

It has been reported that the 32-year-old accused Alok Kumar has been arrested by the police.
The minor girl, a resident of Sridhar Roy Road in Kolkata, was reported missing since early morning Sunday.
The victim’s family lodged a missing complaint at at around 12 pm on Sunday, said the locals.
It has also been reported that police conducted a thorough search operation in all of the 32 flats within the building but faled to find the girl.
When asked, the local residents said the minor girl was seen on CCTV entering a building next door, but despite showing the footage to the police, they were unable to locate her after conducting a thorough search. This raised concerns among neighbours regarding the police's effectiveness.
After prolonged searches, the neighbours became suspicious when they noticed a locked house next door in the evening. They broke open the lock and discovered the body of the missing girl stuffed inside a suitcase.
According to the Kolkata Police, the body was found on the second floor of the 32-year-old accused Alok Kumar's flat. Kumar has been arrested by the police and confessed to the murder.
Police is yet to identify the motive behind the killing of the 7-year-old girl. It is is still under investigation and the arrested accused is currently being questioned.
The police have found injuries on the girl's head and ear, and more details will be disclosed after the postmortem report is received.
Alleging police negligence, chaos erupted in the area and neighbours protested by surrounding the Tiljala police station.
The police had to deploy additional forces to control the situation and even closed the gate of the police station when the crowd became agitated.
A senior officer of the Kolkata Police has assured the public that they are investigating the case thoroughly and will provide more information as it becomes available.
