Madhya Pradesh local administration bulldozed the houses of two men accused of raping and brutalising a 12-year-old girl in the temple town of Maihar in Satna district. The accused allegedly raped the girl, bit her and inserted a hard object in her private parts on Thursday, police sources stated.
Police officials said that the families of the two men were issued notices seeking documents related to their land and buildings. A probe revealed that the houses of both the accused were illegal, sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Lokesh Dabar said, adding that Bhadoliya’s house was constructed on ‘nazool’ land (government land used for non-agricultural purposes), while Kumar’s house was built without permission.
According to eye-witnesses, when the demolition squad reached Bhadoliya’s house, his family members requested officials to take any step only after the probe is completed. But they went ahead with the demolition. The accused, both aged 30, were produced in a local court on Friday and were remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
In an earlier incident in Madhya Pradesh, after a man, Pravesh Shukla, accused of urinating on a tribal youth was arrested by Madhya Pradesh police, the state administration demolished parts of a property owned by him for alleged illegal encroachment. Videos showed a JCB machine demolishing a property owned by Pravesh in the presence of several dozen officials and police personnel.
In response, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's office had then tweeted, "NSA has been invoked, bulldozer has been moved and if needed, Mama ji will bury criminals 10 feet below the ground. Mama ji's message is clear, that is why those with ill intentions - think 10 times before committing a crime in Madhya Pradesh."
