In an unfortunate incident that unfolded in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, a police sub-inspector named Ram Avtar and his team faced a challenging situation when they were called to disperse a road blockade. The blockade emerged as a form of protest after the tragic death of a 13-year-old boy in a bus accident in the Panwari area of Mahoba, according to media reports.
The young boy's demise had deeply affected his family and local residents, who had chosen to stage a protest, demanding justice for the boy and compensation for the family. In response to this, Sub-Inspector Ram Avtar and his team were dispatched to clear the roadblock. However, things took a violent turn as they confronted a mob wielding sticks.
Regrettably, three members of the police team decided to flee the scene, leaving Ram Avtar alone to face the hostile crowd. It was a dire situation that required immediate intervention, prompting the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to arrive at the scene. Their presence helped defuse the tension, and they ensured that Ram Avtar received medical attention at a nearby hospital.
In the aftermath of this unsettling incident, the police managed to apprehend five individuals involved in the attack. However, two of the accused attempted to escape while being transported to the police station in a van. During their escape attempt, they even managed to snatch a service weapon from one of the officers, leading to a brief but intense standoff. Fortunately, the police successfully overpowered the assailants, resulting in injuries to the accused duo, identified as Parashurama and Monu. In addition, two constables and a sub-inspector sustained minor injuries in the process.
