TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh raised alarm on Friday, asserting an imminent threat to his father, TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu's life in jail. The concerns were rooted in health issues, including infections and contaminated water, plaguing the former Andhra Chief Minister during his incarceration in Rajamahendravaram central prison.
Lokesh, in a post on 'X,' claimed that Naidu is grappling with a dire situation—mosquitoes, contaminated water, weight loss, infections, and allergies— all exacerbated by the absence of timely medical assistance. Allegations were made that the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) is attempting to administer steroids to Naidu.
Expressing urgency, Lokesh emphasized an undeniable and immediate threat to Naidu's life, insinuating deliberate harm. He questioned the motives of government doctors and administration, laying responsibility on Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy if any harm were to befall Naidu.
Nara Bhuvaneswari, Naidu's wife, voiced her deep concern over the alleged failure of the Andhra Pradesh government to provide timely medical care. In a post on 'X,' she highlighted Naidu's weight loss, potential kidney risks, and the unsanitary conditions in prison as contributing to a clear and immediate threat to her husband's life.
Adding to the chorus, Brahmani Nara, Naidu's daughter-in-law, alleged inadequate and unsanitary prison conditions, posing considerable health risks to the TDP leader.
In a parallel plea, TDP State President K Atchen Naidu demanded access for Naidu's personal doctors to examine his health in prison. Naidu currently faces judicial remand in Rajamahendravaram central prison over allegations of misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, resulting in a purported loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
