Six people have died in Haryana communal clashes so far, including a Bajrang Dal activist. Right-wing organisations Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal held protests in Delhi on Wednesday to protest against the communal violence in Haryana.
As Haryana continued to be gripped in violent clashes triggered by an attack on a Hindu organisation's religious procession, the state police on Wednesday launched a probe to ascertain the role of Bajrang Dal's Monu Manesar behind the communal clashes that erupted in Nuh. The Supreme Court has stepped in after a plea was filed seeking an urgent hearing regarding the protest rallies and riot-like situation.
The trigger for the initial attack was an objectionable video posted on social media by a Bajrang Dal activist in Ballabhgarh, reported PTI, citing claims made about the violence. Reports also claimed that Monu Manesar, a cow vigilante wanted in the murder of two Muslim men from Rajasthan, was supposed to join the VHP's yatra.
Late on Tuesday night, mobs killed a cleric, torched an eatery and vandalised shops as violence spilled over into neighbouring Gurugram's Badshahpur taking the death toll to five. The mob ransacked some shops belonging to a particular community and also chanted "Jai Shri Ram" in front of a mosque in Badshahpur. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar called the Nuh attack a part of a larger conspiracy, while the VHP demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency.
1. A plea was filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking to stop the rallies announced by VHP-Bajrang Dal in Delhi-NCR following the Nuh communal violence. The petitioners' lawyer told the top court that 23 protest rallies had been organised in Delhi today and sought an urgent hearing. The court issued notices to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi over the issue and ordered deployment of additional force and installation of CCTV cameras in sensitive areas. The matter has been listed for Friday.
2. The Hindu groups organised a protest in Delhi today against the communal violence in Haryana. "Any attempt to harm Delhi's security and communal harmony will be dealt with strictly," the Delhi Police warned. Delhi police enhanced its patrolling on Tuesday after an alert was sounded following communal clashes in Gurugram and adjoining areas in Haryana.

Nuh deputy commissioner Prashant Panwar said that the the decision for reopening of schools and colleges, and the resumption of internet services in the area will be decided after a review of the situation. He also said that they will review the curfew relaxation timings, adding that the curfew time in Nuh was relaxed between 3 PM and 5 PM today. A total of 14 teams of paramilitary forces and nearly 20 companies of Haryana Police are deployed to curtail the situation in the Haryana district.
4. VHP has reported the death of a Bajrang Dal activist after the violence in Nuh. With this, the toll in Haryana clashes rises to six. "Six people, including two home guard jawans and four civilians, have been killed in the violence. Several people have been injured. So far, 116 people have been arrested, we will take strong action against anyone involved. The situation is under control now," says Haryana CM Khattar. According to the Haryana administration, a total of 44 FIRs have been registered so far in which more than 70 people have been arrested.
5. Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that the yatra organisers did not give complete information about the yatra to the district administration. "The incident took place due to this...Strict action will be taken against those found responsible for the incident," he said.
6. Police suspected the fallout of violence in Nuh at Rajasthan's Alwar district on Tuesday night after group of youths allegedly ransacked a few roadside shops on a highway. Both Alwar and Bharatpur share border with Nuh district of Haryana where communal violence erupted on Monday. Mobile internet services were suspended in four tehsils of Bharatpur district as a precautionary measure.
7. Sale of loose petrol and diesel has been strictly prohibited in Gurugram district after several shops were set on fire. "All fuel stations operating in Gurugram district are strictly prohibited from selling loose petrol/diesel to any person (except for emergency purposes) with immediate effect. This order shall be effective within the territorial jurisdiction of Gurugram district and shall remain in force until further notice," the office of Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram said.
8. A group of 100 people targeted the Anjuman Masjid in Gurugram’s sector 57 on Monday night. Naib imam Mohammed Saad and Khurshid Alam were seriously injured. The Imam later died owing to his injuries. National Conference president Farooq Abdullah Tuesday condemned the killing of the naib imam and said the government must take decisive action against the perpetrators.
9. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought an inquiry into alleged use of children in stone pelting and other illegal activities during the recent communal flare-up in Nuh district of Haryana. "The Commission requests your good offices to look into the matter and have a thorough inquiry of the events. Besides, the children which are being used in this illegal protest should be identified and produced before the Child Welfare Committee, if required for ensuring their protection," the commission said in the letter.
10. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday cried foul over the communal violence in Nuh and Gurugram. Khattar termed the incident as "unfortunate" and said a "big conspiracy" appears to be there.
