A head-on collision between two buses in the Ganjam district of Odisha resulted in the killing of 12 people and left several others injured. The accident occurred under the Digapahandi police limit reportedly.
12 people have been killed in a bus accident in Odisha's Ganjam which has left several injured. The driver from one of the buses is receiving medical treatment while the other one is absconding.

According to the reports, the accident occurred around 1 am on Monday between a private bus and a state-run Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus. It is said that the private bus was returning from a wedding from Berhampur while the other bus was coming from Gudari in the Rayagada district.
Berhampur Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M confirmed the 10 deaths and said that the rest of the injured passengers were medically supervised by a team of doctors.
Berhampur SP also reportedly said, “Preliminary investigation suggests it’s a head-on collision. We are trying to ascertain more details. The fire services teams and local police rescued all the injured and rushed them to hospital."
According to the reports, the passengers from the private bus were affected more, all the deceased and the severely injured were from the bus as it was returning from a wedding function at Berhampur.
Reportedly the severely injured people are undergoing treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and one of the injured person has been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
The police informed the media that one of the drivers is receiving medical treatment while another one cannot be found. The police will be searching for him.
