West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday slammed Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and mentioned that her party was not invited to his oath-taking ceremony, adding that she will not go even if the invitation is sent.
Mamata said she thinks that Modi "should not be PM" as it is against the "mandate".
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Saturday had said that its leaders are yet to receive invitations for PM-designate Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony.
"I have very serious doubts if the Congress will also attend, even if it is invited...There has been no legitimacy for Modi, whatsoever," Ramesh said.
"He got himself anointed as head of the NDA alliance and then had a meeting of NDA MPs in the central hall...There is no limit to hypocrisy as far as Modi is concerned," the senior Congress leader added.

Notably, drone cameras have also been put into use.
"More than 2,500 police personnel, including five companies of paramilitary and Delhi Armed Police (DAP) jawans, have already been deployed around the venue," a Delhi Police officer said.
The national capital will remain on high alert as dignitaries from SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) nations have also been invited to the ceremony, said the officer.

Ahead of the oath taking ceremony, outgoing union minister Anurag Thakur stated that he will continue to work as a BJP party worker.
"The people of Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh have elected me to the Lok Sabha for the fifth consecutive time. Being elected to the Lok Sabha for the fifth time is itself a great honour," he told reporters in the state.
Thakur added that "the BJP has given me the opportunity to contest the Lok Sabha polls five times. There cannot be a bigger opportunity than this for me".
After his loss in Kerala's Thiruvanathapuram, BJP Leader and former MoS Rajeev Chandrashekar stated that he will now be stepping down from life in public service.
Taking to X, Chandrashekar said: "Today curtains down on my 18 year stint of public service , of which 3 years i had the privilege to serve in Team Modi2.0. I certainly didnt intend to end my 18 years of public service, as a candidate who lost an Election, but thats how its turned out"
Putting the diplomatic row between India and Maldives aside, President Mohamed Muizzu has arrvied at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to attend Narendra Modi's oath taking ceremony today.
Relations between India and Maldives took a sour turn earlier this row after a social media row turned into a diplomatic one.
In view of the oath taking ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the entry and exit services at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations have been closed. However, as per an ofifical statement from the DMRC, the "interchange facility at Central Secretariat Metro station will be available".

JD(S) leader and son of former PM HD Deve Gowda - HD KUmaraswamy has been sworn in as a cabinet minister in Modi 3.0.
With a coalition government at the centre, members from the NDA allies - JD(S), JD(U) and TDP are being sworn in as cabinet members. As of now, JD(S) HD Kumarawamy and JD(U)'s Jitan Ram Manjhi and Lalan Singh have been sworn in as cabinet ministers.
Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapa has been sworn in as a cabinet minister in Modi's cabinet 3.0. Naidu, who sered as Telugu Desam Party's National General Secretary is the youngest MP to be part of the Modi cabinet for 2024.
Amid the new Modi 3.0 cabinet, there are some familiar faces - Jyotiraditya Scindia, S Jaishankar, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah have retained their posititons in the union cabinet.
