Pro-Khalistan Graffiti Found In Delhi's Uttam Nagar, FIR Filed

Graffiti supporting Khalistan was discovered on the boundary wall of a government school in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The Delhi Police are actively investigating the incident to identify those responsible for the objectionable graffiti. A similar incident occurred earlier in the week, where pro-Khalistan graffiti was found on a pillar in West Delhi's Nihal Vihar area, leading to the filing of an FIR.

The graffiti in Nihal Vihar featured the words 'SJF, January 26, Khalistan,' painted in a secluded area where few people visit. Authorities suspect the act took place on Monday night and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the individual responsible.

These incidents came before Republic Day, with Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issuing threats for the occasion. Pannun had warned about hoisting the Khalistani flag in Delhi on January 26. The threats come in the wake of the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada in June 2023.

Pannun, founder of Sikh For Justice (SFJ), a group campaigning for Khalistan, has a history of making threats against India. He was declared a 'designated individual terrorist' by the Centre in 2020, and the SFJ was banned in 2019 for its involvement in "anti-national and subversive" activities.

Recently, Pannun threatened to kill Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Director General of state Police, Gaurav Yadav, on Republic Day. This threat follows a series of warnings issued by Pannun against Indian establishments and authorities, including a threat to people planning to travel via Air India.

In a related development, an Indian national, Nikhil Gupta, was indicted in the US for an alleged murder plot against Pannun. Gupta had agreed to pay $100,000 to an assassin for the killing, with an advance payment of $15,000 made in June of the same year. Gupta was arrested in the Czech Republic at the request of US authorities.
