A police official confirmed the incident, stating that the 40-year-old Mohol who has multiple criminal cases against him, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the Kothrud area.
The official reportedly said, “Three to four unidentified assailants fired two rounds at Mohol from a close range at Sutardara in Kothrud around 1.30 pm. Mohol suffered bullet wounds and was rushed to a hospital."
Authorities have formed teams to apprehend the attackers.
Mohol faces various charges, including murder and dacoity, and was previously acquitted in a murder case involving the suspected Indian Mujahideen operative Mohammad Qateel Siddiqui in Yerawada jail.
