Rahul Gandhi Spotlights BJP-Congress Ideological Clash Over Women's Reservation In Jaipur

Rahul Gandhi argued that there's no need to delay this important step, asserting that it can be put into practice immediately.

In Jaipur, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader, engaged in a spirited discussion about the ongoing ideological clash between the BJP and Congress. He shed light on recent political developments, highlighting the twists and turns in the Women's Reservation Bill saga. Gandhi pointed out that initially, the Central government was reticent about discussing the Women's Reservation issue. However, they hastily called for a special session to divert attention from the "India vs. Bharat" debate, a topic that failed to garner public support.

Gandhi emphasized that their abrupt move was prompted by the prior announcement of the special session. Consequently, they expediently introduced the Women's Reservation Bill. The Congress party lent its support to this initiative. Nonetheless, Gandhi accused the BJP of employing delaying tactics by insisting on a new census and delimitation before implementing the 33% reservation. He asserted that the reservation could be put into effect immediately, benefiting OBC women.

During his one-day visit to Jaipur, Gandhi interacted with students at Maharani College, where he was warmly received by the college principal. In a somewhat unconventional move, the Congress leader rode pillion on a two-wheeler driven by a female student amidst heightened security measures.

Simultaneously, the party's president, Mallikarjun Kharge, arrived in Jaipur and received a warm welcome from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other prominent leaders. Together, Kharge and Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the new Pradesh Congress Committee building in the Mansarover area, commemorating the event with the unveiling of a plaque. Subsequently, they addressed party workers from various ranks, reinforcing the party's commitment to its goals.
