After a high-octane electoral competition between the Congress and BJP in Rajasthan where well over 5 crore voters across 199 constituencies exercised their franchise on November 25, the entire state is now anxiously waiting for December 3 to arrive, as on that day the much-awaited poll results will be announced.
This year, polling took place in 199 out of 200 constituencies of Rajasthan amid beefed-up security measures. Due to the sudden demise of the Congress candidate in Sriganganagar's Karanpur seat, Gurmeet Singh Koonar, the election in this particular constituency remained adjourned.
The BJP through this high-voltage electoral pursuit, is aiming to defeat the ruling Congress party. Keeping the target in mind, their election campaign also encompassed issues such as crime against women, appeasement, corruption and paper leaks while the ruling grand old party's focus firmly remained on the works and performance of the Ashok Gehlot government, its welfare schemes and the promise of seven guarantees if the party retains power.

The BJP fielded the former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in Jhalarapatan from where the heavyweight politician has been tasting victory since 2003. The only time Raje came close to some competition was in 2018 but somehow managed to secure 54 per cent votes defeating Congress leader Manvendra Singh.
This constituency in Jodhpur holds immense importance as the incumbent Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been winning this seat since 1998. This time, the BJP has fielded Mahendra Singh Rathore against CM Gehlot
The Muslim-dominated constituency has featured in the list of key constituencies as Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has been fielded for the consecutive second time. Pilot will be contesting with BJP's Ajit Singh Mehta this time. Back in 2018, Pilot defeated BJP's Yunus Khan by a margin of over 54,179 votes.
In Jhotwara, BJP has fielded former Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore against Congress' Abhishek Choudhary. In 2018, Rathode was defeated in this seat by Congress candidate Lalchand Katariya.
Another important name in the list of Rajasthan's ey constituencies is Nathdwara. From here the BJP has fielded Vishwaraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of Maharana Pratap Singh, against Congress veteran CP Joshi, the current speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly.
