Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has taken decisive action in response to the disturbing incident in Pratapgarh district. The victim, a 21-year-old tribal woman who was stripped and paraded by her husband and others, will receive significant support from the government. Gehlot announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh along with a government job for the victim, as per an official statement released on Saturday.

However, this incident has also become a political matter, with the opposition BJP criticizing the Congress government for its handling of women's safety in the state, PTI reported.
Gehlot made it clear that the criminals involved in this heinous act would face the strictest punishment through a fast-track court proceeding. He emphasized the need for society to condemn such tragic and inhuman incidents and asserted that the prevention of crimes against women is a top priority for his government.
Regarding the circumstances of the incident, Gehlot noted that it stemmed from a matrimonial dispute and condemned the actions of the in-laws involved. He praised the swift response of the police, who arrested seven accused and detained four others within hours of the incident coming to light.
Director General of Police Umesh Mishra confirmed that the incident was a result of the ongoing dispute within the family. In response to the incident, a case has been registered against 10 accused under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also commented on the situation, commending the state government's prompt action in arresting the criminals and emphasizing the importance of a fast-track trial to ensure justice for the victim. She expressed hope that the perpetrators of this heinous act would be severely punished.
