Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Sacks Minister Rajendra Gudha Over Comment On Women's Safety: Report

Earlier on Friday, Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha had said that the Rajasthan government had failed to provide security to women in the state.

Hours after Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha's comments on women safety in the state, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday sacked him, as per a report.

Earlier on Friday, Gudha had said that the Rajasthan government had failed to provide security to women in the state.

Speaking in the assembly, Gudha had said, "It is true & should be accepted that we have failed in women's safety. Instead of Manipur, we should look within ourselves that atrocities on women have increased in Rajasthan."

Hours later, PTI reported sources as saying that Gehlot had sacked Gudha from his post.

"Rajendra Gudha has been terminated from the post of minister of state," an official source told PTI.

Gudha held charge as Minister of State for Sainik Kalyan (Independent Charge), Home Guard and Civil Defence, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development.

Lately, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought to highlight the crimes against women reported in Rajasthan to counter the criticism it has got over the May 4 incident from Manipur in which two women were seen being paraded naked and groped in a viral video.

Earlier this month, a Dalit girl was found dead in Rajasthan, which led to criticism of the Gelot-led Congress government in Rajasthan.
