Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad added a unique twist to the recent political sparring when he humorously claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was actually worried about losing the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and seeking refuge abroad. Prasad's witty remark came in response to PM Modi's "Quit India" jibe aimed at the opposition coalition "INDIA," accusing them of corruption, nepotism, and appeasement politics.
During a rare public appearance at a function organized by his son, Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav, the ailing septuagenarian charmed the audience with his earthy humor and ability to lighten up the situation. He playfully suggested that it was PM Modi who was planning to quit, pointing out the numerous foreign trips as evidence, humorously adding that the PM might be searching for a place to relish pizzas, momos, and chow mein, according to PTI.
Despite being political rivals in the past, Lalu Prasad expressed his anticipation for the next "INDIA" coalition meeting in Mumbai, where he would join hands with his former adversary turned ally, Nitish Kumar, the Bihar Chief Minister. Emphasizing the need for unity to defeat the BJP, Prasad pledged to thwart any attempts to subvert the Constitution.
In the midst of laughter and light-hearted banter, Prasad also held the Centre responsible for the ongoing strife in Manipur.
