Sawant Thanks PM For Lauding Goa's Fest For Differently-Abled During 'Mann Ki Baat'

The fest had received a huge response from across the country, and more than 50,000 people had registered and participated in the event held earlier this month, Sawant said in another tweet.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for lauding the festival for differently-abled persons recently organised by the state government. Taking to Twitter, Sawant thanked the prime minister for taking the Purple Fest, a first-of-its kind inclusive festival held in the state, to the “lengths and breadths of India” by making a special mention of it in his "Mann Ki Baat" address. 

“Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji made a special mention in today's #MannKiBaat about the unique #PurpleFest, India's first inclusive programme organised by the Goa government at Panaji,” the chief minister tweeted. The fest had received a huge response from across the country, and more than 50,000 people had registered and participated in the event held earlier this month, he said in another tweet.

“The fest had multiple events that offered a platform to display skills, creativity of divyangjan. I thank Hon'ble PM for taking the unique festival to lengths and breadth of India,” he said. The prime minister in his address had called the Purple Fest as an attempt towards the welfare of differently-abled people. More than 50,000 people had participated in the event, during which Miramar beach became accessible to differently-abled persons, he said.
