It has been reported that primarily the cause of death was uncontrolled blood loss as the 27-year-old woman's husband failed to cut the umbilical cord properly.

The Medical Officer at the Primary Health Center (PHC), Rathika, filed a complaint with the police about the death of Loganayaki, a resident of Puliampatti near Pochampalli.
According to police sources, the husband of the deceased woman Loganayaki proceeded with a home birth as she started experiencing labour pain.
As per media reports, the woman was brought to the PHC in an unconscious state and was declared dead upon arrival.
Subsequently, the police filed a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)
