He shed light on China's establishment of colonial-style boarding schools in Tibet, where Tibetan children, some as young as four years old, are forcibly separated from their families and thrust into these institutions. This separation, as Passang emphasized, not only severs familial bonds but also severs the ties to their native language and culture.
