Amid the ongoing turmoil over seat-sharing involving the Congress and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal, it has been reported that the ruling party has been upset with Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and has termed him as the 'gravedigger' of the INDIA bloc alliance.
This development came a day after TMC chief Mamata Banerjee nullified the possibility of sharing seats with Congress and announced to go solo in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls this year.
According to Trinamool Congress (TMC), the entire fuss over seat-sharing with Congress took place because of Chowdhury, who is the West Bengal Congress president. "We have been patient enough for seat-sharing, we were gracious enough. But all we saw was delays and delays," the TMC said, as per reports.
Blaming Chowdhury, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien earlier today said, "Three reasons for the alliance not working in Bengal – Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury."
Alleging that Chowdhury has been working at the behest of the BJP, He said, "The voice is his, but the words are being dictated to him by the duo in Delhi. "He even endorses ED actions in Bengal when they are against Trinamool. He holds special press conferences to belittle Mamata Banerjee and barely speaks against BJP leaders," he alleged.
